■ THE LIFT RIDE UP (THE SCARIEST PART ■)
Let’s start here — because this sets the tone. That lift ride up the mountain? Yeah… it’s beautiful… but it’s also a little nerve-wracking. You’re high up, open air, and it’s just you, the seat, and the mountain. Once you settle in though, the views are CRAZY. Mountains, trees, and that feeling of climbing into something special.
■ FIRST IMPRESSION AT THE TOP
When you get to the top, it opens up into this full experience. It feels like a mountain village mixed with an adventure park. Everything is clean, scenic, and built for exploring.
■ MOUNTAIN COASTERS (MUST DO)
This was one of the BEST parts. The mountain coasters are FAST, smooth, and honestly just fun. You control your speed — so you can cruise or go full send. We went all in… and it delivered. This is one of those rides you’ll want to do more than once.
■ EVELYN’S FAVORITE – THE TREEHOUSE
This right here was special. The treehouse area is perfect for kids — interactive, fun, and safe. Evelyn had an amazing time just exploring, climbing, and being in her own world. This is what makes Anakeesta great for families — it’s not just rides, it’s experiences for everyone.
■■ THE RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE (BEST PART ■)
This was my personal highlight. We sat down at the restaurant and I went with the beef Wellington. And I’m not even going to lie… it hit. Well-cooked, flavorful, and way better than you’d expect on a mountain attraction. Between the food and the views — this felt like a real dining experience, not just a stop.
■ VIEWS & ATMOSPHERE
The views from the top are unreal. You’re overlooking the Smoky Mountains with a full panoramic feel. Daytime is beautiful — sunset? Even better. This is one of those places where you just stop and take it in.
■ VIBE CHECK
This felt like: Family adventure Date day potential Relax + explore experience It’s balanced — not too intense, not too slow. Just a good time all around.
■ PARKING & ACCESS
Parking is in downtown Gatlinburg. You’ll walk to the base station. Tickets typically range ~$35–$60 depending on package. Lift ride included with entry.
■ BIG DAWG PRO TIPS
Go early or late to avoid crowds Do the coasters early Take your time — don’t rush it Eat at the restaurant — worth it Stay for sunset if you can
■ FINAL VERDICT
Anakeesta is one of the BEST experiences in Gatlinburg. Between the lift, the views, the rides, and the food — it delivers across the board. For families, couples, or anyone looking for something different — this is a must. BIG DAWG rating: 9.5/10 ■
